My approach to teaching piano is based on two principles: First, a focus on developing sight-reading skills early, rather than memorization, leads to a more satisfying and long-lasting enjoyment of music. Second, individual instruction gives each student the personal attention they need to be challenged, without being overwhelmed. I teach beginning through intermediate students at my home, one-on-one. I have used the Alfred method with beginning students of all ages for many years with great success. I have also developed unique approaches for students with specific needs or goals. I would be happy to discuss your situation with you and develop a personal lesson program. |
